There’s something about senior sessions that always gets me—but lately, it’s hitting a little closer to home.
Maybe it’s because I have a senior of my own this year, but every time I photograph this season of life, I feel it. That mix of pride, excitement, and that quiet thought in the back of your mind… how did it go by this fast?
This session with a Campolindo High School senior in Moraga was exactly that kind of reminder.
A Golden Hour Senior Session in Moraga
We met in one of my favorite spots in the Moraga/Lamorinda area—rolling hills, soft light, and that classic East Bay golden glow that just makes everything feel a little extra magical.
She showed up relaxed, confident, and completely herself, which is always the goal. Nothing overly posed, nothing forced—just letting her personality come through while the light did its thing.
Golden hour really showed off here (it always does in Moraga), and it gave us that warm, natural look that feels timeless without trying too hard.
From Campolindo to San Diego State
This fall, she’s heading to San Diego State University, which honestly feels like the perfect next chapter.
Sunshine, ocean air, new friends, new experiences—everything you want for that next step after high school.
It’s such a huge moment: closing one chapter while standing right on the edge of another.
Why Senior Photos Matter More Than You Think
I think a lot of people go into senior photos thinking it’s just another thing to check off the list.
But it’s not.
It’s one of the last times you get to really pause and capture who they are right now—before everything changes.
And as a parent, I can say this firsthand:
you don’t realize how much you’ll treasure these until you’re in it.
Planning Your Senior Photos in Moraga & Lamorinda
If you’re planning senior photos in the Moraga, Lafayette, or Orinda area, here are a few things that make a big difference:
- Timing is everything → Golden hour (the hour before sunset) gives you the best light
- Keep outfits simple → Solid colors photograph beautifully at sunset
- Choose locations with variety → Hills, trees, and open space all in one spot make sessions feel more dynamic
- Comfort matters → Bring walking shoes and change if needed
The East Bay has so many beautiful, low-key locations that photograph incredibly well without needing anything overly complicated.
