Etsy!!!

I took pictures a couple of weeks back for a momma opening up her own Etsy shop.  She makes adorable dresses for little girls, mostly eco-friendly  fabrics.  Check them out here.  She will be putting a new dress up each day this week so I’m going to do the same here on my site!  So check back tomorrow!

Look Who’s Getting Married!

A while back I met this woman when she came to buy something from me off of Craig’s List.  We ended up standing around talking for a long time.  I thought she was just an awesome person!!  She saw my signature in my email and asked me about possibly doing photos for her later.  I couldn’t wait!  We were going to do 2 sessions, one with the kids and then engagement pictures the next weekend, but you know this crazy weather!!  The day we had booked for the kids, it was freezing and raining!  So we combined the two and it worked out great!  I can’t wait to go through all of your pictures tonight, guys!  Thanks for being so flexible and fun too!

Nervous!

So tomorrow is my first session using my new camera and lens and I’m not going to lie, I’m a nervous wreck!!  Jessica, I hope you aren’t reading this!  😉  I’ve been using my camera nonstop trying to get used to it.  It’s just so different than my other camera, in a good way.  My mom asked why I don’t just take my old camera.  My response, “Yeah right!!!”  And besides, I’ve already sold it!  No tears were shed either.  So here are some more practice shots.  I know that everything will be fine tomorrow, just gotta get some confidence!!  Canon Rebel XTi, rest in peace!!

As long as Mya has been taking baths in the regular bathtub, I’ve wanted to get some pictures of her in a pile of bubbles, but it just wasn’t ever possible before with my old camera  so today we took Mya into our bathroom and she was so confused!  She usually takes her bath before bedtime.  When I asked her if she wanted to take a bath, she looked at me like, “What?!  I just woke up from a nap!”  She had a great time and I got that booty shot that I’ve been wanting to get for so long.  I was afraid that she was going to get too old and then it would be too late.  Now I can die a happy momma.  She’s going to hate me someday for the picture, but I love those chubby little legs and that adorable little booty!

Finally!

So I have been trying to take Halloween pictures for Mya’s sweet little friend for weeks now but everytime her mom and I got together at a pumpkin patch, or even thought about going to one, it would rain.  We finally just decided to take some pictures on her front porch.  Poor girl was teething though and just didn’t want to smile.  I normally can get her to smile for every picture.  Darn teeth!  We even got Mya back in her costume and she even smiled!!  Wow!  😉  So here ya go, friend.  Now you can make your Halloween cards!

Testing, Testing 1, 2, 3

My new lens arrived today.  I didn’t even know it!  I had listened for the door all day and then had finally given up and decided that it’s not going to be here until next week.  My husband and I went to take the dogs and Mya for a walk and when we opened the door, there it was.  I asked my husband, “Do they have any idea how much that thing costs?!!  They just left it laying on the front porch?”  I was so excited to try it out but had to wait until we got to a spot in the neighborhood where we could let the dogs run free and let Mya walk around.  It was torturous just having the camera riding in the stroller and I couldn’t even touch it.  Finally I got to try it out but then realized that I hadn’t put the memory card in it.  lol  I didn’t care.  I took one picture, looked at it, took another, looked at it.  They didn’t get saved but I didn’t care.  I was so amazed by the clarity, color, and sharpness.  I have never seen such a thing!!! EVER!  I am so in love with this camera.  When we got home, I got Mya out on the front porch and asked her to give me her smile.  She wasn’t into it.  Shocker!  😉  I’ve got some learning to do, but I am so excited about it!  Now if I can just relax.  I asked my husband, “Where should I put this camera so that nothing can happen to it?!  Will I be able to leave the house with it?  I sure hope so!  I’m sure clients hope so too!  😉

Here is my sample picture for the evening.  Still working on the huge aperature.  Never had that as an option before!
