1 Year Old/Asheville Baby Photographer

I can hardly believe that it was one year ago that I saw this little man.  He has grown into the happiest little thing.  He smiled through his entire session!!  And he loved his cake at the end.  I love cake smashes.  They are just such a fun way to end a one year session!  Happy first birthday you precious little boy!  (Notice how amazing the light is?  Summers make evening sessions hard because little ones usually go to bed around the time that we need to be doing our session.  But the light makes it all worth it in the photos!)

He was so in love with his sister.  All he had to do was look at her and he would start laughing and smiling!

Happy 7th Birthday!/Asheville Child Photographer

Can it really be that I have a 7 year old?!  When I hear from her school that she is a “rising 2nd grader”, I just can’t believe it.  I still feel like she’s only in kindergarten!  But I have friends with kids who are graduating high school so I guess 7 isn’t that crazy.  lol This girl is so amazing!  She’s the most brilliant child I’ve ever known.  I knew something was up with her when she could read at the age of 2.  Now after having two other children, I see how special she really is!  What I thought was normal is actually exceptional.  She’s such an animal lover.  If she finds worms on the sidewalk, she takes them to the dirt and buries them.  She is always so concerned for any lost dogs that she sees.  She wants to pet every dog walking by and always asks their name.  She’s just such a sweet soul.  She has definitely been my most challenging child but when you’ve got that much knowledge going through your mind at all times, life has to be a little hard.  I can’t wait to see what this girl does in the world.  I love her little self!  Happy 7th birthday to my first baby!

One Year Old!/Asheville Baby Photographer

This evening I met up with a family that I hadn’t seen since the fall.  Things were not working in our favor but they were so easy.  It started raining shortly after the session started and then it started raining a little harder.  We were outside and there was really not anywhere to take pictures that was covered so we found a big tree and kind of hung out there for most of the session.  Whew!  Thank goodness for awesome people!  These two are about to have birthdays!  It was so much fun hanging out with them.  Brother reminded me so much of River!  I haven’t done many family sessions lately and it was so nice to hang out with some big kids again!  Thank you guys for being so easy-going, even in the midst of rain, gnats and some potty accidents.  hehe   It was so awesome to see you all again!  Here are just a couple that I have edited.  More to come later but for now I’ve got eyes that are crossing!  Good night!  zzzz…..

Could she possibly get any cuter?!  Look at her little crossed feet!  Oh my!

Sweet Piper/Asheville Child Photographer

My sweet little Piper is turning 2 at the end of the month.  I can hardly believe it.  She still seems like a baby to me.  I have to keep reminding myself that she’s a toddler.  She reminds me herself every now and then when she gets frustrated and pitches a little fit.  Her fits are pretty funny.  I can’t help but laugh when she does it because inside, I know how sweet she really is.  She is the most affectionate, loving, happy child I’ve ever known.  I still don’t know what I did to deserve her!

I can’t believe I’m typing this.  River is turning 4!  In some ways I’m having a hard time with him growing up so quickly, but in other ways, it’s kind of nice.  He had a VERY long case of the terrible two’s.  lol  He’s finally out of that phase, thank God.  So now we can have our sweet little boy back.  And he really is so sweet.  Sometimes I just can’t even believe how lucky we are to have such a kind, caring, amazing little boy.  I would be okay with time slowing down now because before we know it, he’s going to be off to kindergarten and that I can’t handle.  That will not be a happy day for me.  My husband has already said that I’m not allowed to take him on the first day.  hehe When my kids have birthdays, I can’t help but think back to the day they were born.  I’ll never forget the absolute joy that I felt the minute they put River on my chest.  It was like nothing I had ever experienced.  He has been a huge light in our lives ever since.  I would do anything to go back and relive that early morning, okay maybe not the pain of it because good golly he was a big baby.  lol  But that moment when I first met him was a memory that will stay with me forever.  I was so sleep deprived by the time he finally made it into the world but I felt like I was on cloud nine for a few days.  He made me so very happy!  Okay, I have to stop typing all of this or I’m going to be wanting another baby.  So happy, happy day to my beautiful little Pisces!

Getting River to this spot was kind of tricky.  I had to get the crate in the water, and then carry him over and get him sat down and then go find a good spot to stand to take his picture.  As soon as I got to where I was going to stand, he said he had to pee!  What?!  lol

I’ve taken his picture on this bridge every year since his first birthday.  It’s not my favorite spot but I had to do it for old time’s sake!
