Cake Time/Asheville Baby Photographer

I haven’t done cake smash photos with babies in so long and have just started offering them again for first birthdays. I’ve missed them! I love watching baby’s reactions to their first real taste of sugar, usually! You never know how they are going to react. Our oldest wanted to eat the entire cake but some babies, like this little man, just aren’t interested. He wanted nothing to do with this cake, didn’t even want it on him at all! But good gracious, he was such a happy boy. He was laughing so much during his session! It was so wonderful to get to see him again. I’ve done his newborn and 6 month photos. It’s so cool watching babies grow. Happy birthday, DJ! You are one very loved baby boy!!

One Year Old/Asheville Baby Photographer

I don’t do older baby sessions anymore but I sure do love them!  This baby girl’s aunt booked this session last December.  A lot of people ask why I don’t do older baby sessions anymore.  I really do love them and love how the pictures turn out but it requires packing up a lot of things in my car, driving to a location, scouting out some good spots, hoping for good weather and good light and then hoping that the baby isn’t cranky since the best time to do a session is just before sunset, the time when most babies are ready for bed.  It’s so much easier to only do newborns in my studio where I know the light and the best time of day.  I don’t have to go anywhere and I can get things set up exactly how I need for them to be.  And I love it so very much!  But this session did make me second guess my decision to specialize only in newborns because this girl was SO cute and so cuddly with her momma and grandmother!  Who knows, maybe one day I’ll go back to doing everything but for now, it’s just newborns.

Sweet Reese/Asheville Baby Photographer

I decided in December that I was going to exclusively be a newborn baby photographer.  It’s what I love more than anything.  But as always, January came and was slow, which I was fine with but when this momma asked if I could do her baby girl’s birthday pictures, I couldn’t turn it down.  I love this little girl!  I did her newborn pictures and have done pictures of her brothers.  I had to make an exception!  We started thinking of outfits and setups and I was so excited for this day to come.  I knew these pictures would be adorable.  How could they not be with such a beautiful girl?!  Happy first birthday sweet Reese!

I took her picture as a newborn in this bed and one with this headband.  Wow, things sure have changed!  She was all over!

Cake Smash!/Asheville Baby Photographer

This morning I did my last cake smash for a while.  I love cake smashes but it’s just too hard to turn my studio completely around one day for a cake smash and then back for a newborn session the next day.  🙁  When I win the lottery and have one of those big store fronts down in Biltmore Park Town Square, then I can do whatever, whenever, right?!  But for now, it’s just going to be newborns from here on out for a while.

This family was so sweet and you could tell that this little man was the center of their universe.  They were so nurturing, calm, and loving with him.  He is one lucky little guy!

Thank you guys for allowing me to do little man’s first birthday pictures.  It really was a lot of fun!  You guys were awesome!
