HO-LY MO-LY!!!!

Okay, so I decided to do this photo contest just for fun thinking there would be a few votes but boy, was I sooo wrong!!  Every time I check my email there are tons of votes.  I can barely keep up!  The number of hits on this site are insane.  The most hits I had had in one day before this contest was 142 but for the last few days, there have been 300 on one day, 450 the next, and so far today there have been 170!!  Wowee!  You people are serious when it comes to winning.  😉  Thanks for all of the exposure!  Can’t wait to see who wins!  I have a feeling I know who it might be.  Hmmm…..

Just came across this as I’m finishing up pictures from last weekend.  This picture makes me want to go wake Mya up and hold her.  Oh the love of a mom and her child.  It’s like nothing else in the world!

Photo of the Year Contest

So I am done with sessions for the year so I thought it would be fun to have a photo contest.  I’m going to put up some of my favorite photos from the year and let you readers vote for which one is your favorite.  The owner of the winning picture will get a free 8×10 canvas of that photo.  To vote you must leave a comment and in the comment leave the title of the photo that is your favorite.  You can get friends and family to help you vote.  I will close the voting on Friday night at midnight so get started!  (One vote per person, please.)  🙂

I Got Me a Watermark!

So this month, lots of things are changing.  A new year is about to start and it’s a new start to my business.  I have a list of things that I need to accomplish before January and my assistant Ryder is at my side helping me get it all done.  The big thing is the on-line gallery.  I have it all set up and it’s ready to go!  I am excited to start using it.  I will now be selling prints through a password protected gallery where you will be able to see your prints and order which ones you like, including CANVASES, woohoo, and birth announcements and holiday cards.  Very exciting stuff!  Also, I now have a watermark on my photos.  It’s nothing fancy.  Maybe I will fancy it up later, but for now, I’m just glad to finally have one.  Hopefully this will keep sneaky folks from taking and printing photos that are copyrighted once I’m not giving CD’s away anymore.  (See photo below.)  So yay, 2 things checked off my list!  I look forward to the change that is coming!

Show It!

My session got rained out this morning 🙁 so I thought that this would be a good time to show some ways to show your pictures in your home.  I just ordered a ton of prints, canvases and mounted prints for our own house because we just didn’t have any family pictures up around the house.  I felt like it was such a shame.  I’m a photographer and I have great pictures stored on my computer of my Mya and none of them were hanging up!  So here are some examples of things you can do with your photos!  These you can order through ezprints.com right now or you can order these through me starting in January from your on-line gallery.

This is a canvas that I ordered for Mya’s room:

This is a side view.  It’s so cool because the picture is wrapped around the canvas.

This is a mounted print that I ordered for our entry:

This is a side view.  It’s very thin and you can order it ready to be hung.  It’s so easy and it looks great!

I also ordered one for our bathroom.  It’s a canvas of this picture, but the lighting in our bathroom is just awful so no actual picture of the canvas.

These are some more creative ways to showcase your photos.  I know that a lot of people are unaware that these even exist!  They, of course, cost more than prints on paper, but they look amazing in your home and can make a big impact, especially in large prints!

Newborn pictures coming tomorrow from this family.  I’m so excited!! So check back tomorrow for some good old fashion baby chub because he is one big boy!

Calling All Babies!

Lately I have been on the look out for some really cute newborn photo props and boy have I found them!!!  I have gotten a ton of adorable little hats, diaper  covers, swaddlers, baskets, antique benches, wheel barrows, flower pots.  You name it!  I am so beyond excited to use them.  I have a few newborn sessions set up already and I’m so excited.  I did a newborn session for my very first session ever for my friend Kelly.  I didn’t have a clue what I was doing.  I was so nervous that I was sick.  I did a couple more in the beginning but now I’m ready fo real!  I’ve gotten a lot of practice since then and a much better camera so I’m armed and ready to go!  So all of you babies out there all warm and snug in your mommy’s tummy, do a little kicking and tell your momma to contact me!  😉
