4 Years Old!/Asheville Child Photographer

I can’t believe I’m typing this.  River is turning 4!  In some ways I’m having a hard time with him growing up so quickly, but in other ways, it’s kind of nice.  He had a VERY long case of the terrible two’s.  lol  He’s finally out of that phase, thank God.  So now we can have our sweet little boy back.  And he really is so sweet.  Sometimes I just can’t even believe how lucky we are to have such a kind, caring, amazing little boy.  I would be okay with time slowing down now because before we know it, he’s going to be off to kindergarten and that I can’t handle.  That will not be a happy day for me.  My husband has already said that I’m not allowed to take him on the first day.  hehe When my kids have birthdays, I can’t help but think back to the day they were born.  I’ll never forget the absolute joy that I felt the minute they put River on my chest.  It was like nothing I had ever experienced.  He has been a huge light in our lives ever since.  I would do anything to go back and relive that early morning, okay maybe not the pain of it because good golly he was a big baby.  lol  But that moment when I first met him was a memory that will stay with me forever.  I was so sleep deprived by the time he finally made it into the world but I felt like I was on cloud nine for a few days.  He made me so very happy!  Okay, I have to stop typing all of this or I’m going to be wanting another baby.  So happy, happy day to my beautiful little Pisces!

Getting River to this spot was kind of tricky.  I had to get the crate in the water, and then carry him over and get him sat down and then go find a good spot to stand to take his picture.  As soon as I got to where I was going to stand, he said he had to pee!  What?!  lol

I’ve taken his picture on this bridge every year since his first birthday.  It’s not my favorite spot but I had to do it for old time’s sake!

Christmas PJ Minis!/Asheville Baby Photographer, Asheville Child Photographer

Yesterday I did Christmas mini-sessions with kids!  It was so much fun and I loved working with kids of so many different ages!  I went from tickling some with Elmo to telling jokes with the older kids.  I love that I got to see some kids that I hadn’t seen in a really long time!  I usually only do these for my moms’ group but this year I opened them up to anyone who was interested and made them very affordable.  There are lots of families out there that want photos done but can’t afford them, especially around the holidays.  I wanted to make these affordable enough for anyone, even a single mom!  I’m so glad I did these.  These are just a few of the many, many sessions that I did!  Happy holidays to everyone out there!  I hope that your days are filled with family, love and good spirits!

Christmas is Coming/Asheville Child Photographer

Christmas is coming so I thought it was time to get some pictures of my kids.  This is the set up that I’m using for my mini-sessions next weekend so I thought I would give it a try!  I had the hardest time figuring out how I was going to do this but I love the way it turned out!

Favorites of 2014!/Asheville Family Photographer

I like to go through and pick out my favorites from the year at the end of each year.  Here are some of my favorite photos from 2014!  If you can’t tell, I had a really hard time picking because I love so many of them.  It’s cool to see how much I’ve grown too, especially with newborn photography!  I think I’ll probably be adding a few more from my upcoming sessions!  Which ones are your favorites?

Momma-to-be!/Asheville Maternity Photographer

This mom and I have been communicating back and forth through email for a while now.  I loved her personality in her emails and loved how excited she is about her newborn session with her upcoming baby girl.  I knew I was going to love her and I did! She was just as awesome as I thought she would be, so easy going, funny and just fun to be around.  And their daughter was SO beautiful and the sweetest thing.  She hugged and kissed me before leaving and then ran up and hugged and kissed me again.  Oh my gosh, precious!  It was so cold for this session, but it didn’t matter, we had a great time.  I’m really looking forward to the session with this baby girl.  I have a feeling she’s going to be rather chubby and who doesn’t love a chubby baby?!  There hasn’t been a newborn baby girl in the studio in so long that I can’t even remember!  I’ve been buying headbands and scarves and blankets and flokatis and on an on for months now just hoping that someone would eventually book me that had a girl and that time has finally come!  Now we just have to wait for her to make her appearance!
