Long Time No Post

Well, we have been super busy packing, selling furniture, and living in an empty house.  It just gets emptier and emptier as the days go on!  People have come and bought just about everything that we planned on selling.  So much has been bought that our yard sale that we were planning on having isn’t going to happen anymore.  There’s hardly anything to sell!  A lady even came to buy our plants!  I wanted to keep some until we found out that the movers won’t have our stuff to N.Y. until about 12 days after they pick it up.  🙁  Not sure plants could survive for that long unless they were cacti.  lol  We went and bought some new, smaller furniture at IKEA.  Well, we bought most of it.  The couch that we picked out was out of stock but they told us that we could order it at the Brooklyn store and have it delivered to our apartment.  Cool!  Right?  So we went ahead and bought everything else to match for the living room and brought it home, got home, called the Brooklyn store, and say what?!  The couch color that we wanted has been discontinued.  Wow, so now on to plan B.  What was plan B?  Oh yeah, there wasn’t one.  So now, we have half of a living room set and no couch!  We’re going to figure that one out when we go up to NY to find our apartment at the end of this month.  Out of all of the craziness that has been going on, this couch situation is really the only thing that has stressed me out.  Everything else has been so easy!  Poor Mya has been trapped in this house almost everyday while I pack, post things on Craig’s List, respond to Craig’s List emails,…  So today after her nap, I decided that we needed to go to the park and have some fun!

The girl is in love with flowers at the moment.  She has to pick them everywhere we go, especially the “Panda Lions” (dandelions).  So today she saw these flowers and was fascinated when I showed her how you can make bracelets and necklaces out of them.  She sat there with me while I picked and tied these together.  She loved it!

While we were cleaning out the attic, Mya found her pacifiers from when she was a baby.  She never really liked them and used them for maybe a few weeks.  Today it was a different story.  She wanted to have one!!  So we let her and told her it was just for play while we were in the garage.  She sucked on her paci and tried to get into her baby swing.  LOL  Ryder finally convinced her to put her Papa Bear in the swing instead.  She pitched a major fit when I told her that we had to put the paci up.  Man, what happened to my “big girl”?

Oh So Sweet

I am working on the newborn pictures from Saturday now.  I will upload more as I work on them.  Sweet little thing!  Here is one of his adorable big brother.

I think they have the same smile!

Spring, Spring

Today we took Mya to take some pictures in the bluebonnets.  Because taking her pictures is usually such a nightmare, I decided to combine these pictures with her birthday pictures since her birthday is coming up on Cinco de Mayo.  All day I was a little sick just thinking about the last time that I took Mya’s pictures.  It was awful!!  Ryder was just as nervous as I was.  I finally decided that I wasn’t going to tell Mya that we were taking her pictures.  We were “just going to play in the flowers”.  Uh huh, that’s right.  Why did I have my camera on me?  I was “taking pictures of the beautiful flowers”.  😉  When we pulled up to the spot, there were a ton of people there and the flowers were everywhere.  Mya said, “Mya too!!  Awesome!!”  Good sign!!  So we got out in the flowers and I just pretended to take pictures of the flowers but told Ryder to get behind me and act crazy.  So he did and it worked!!!  Mya wanted to lay in the flowers and was looking right at me.  She wanted to dance, she laughed, she smiled.  I almost cried it was so perfect.  I kept showing Ryder the pictures saying, “Oh my gosh!  Look at these!”  I was so giddy and happy that we really got some good pictures of her and she didn’t even know it.  She didn’t know it until I asked Ryder to take a picture of Mya and me.  Then she started fussing.  lol Silly girl!!  So I will post her birthday pictures soon, but here is my favorite one of her today in her Easter dress.  I love you, my little honey bunny!

Whew Crazy Day!

Today was such a crazy, busy, exhausting day!!  I did a first birthday session in the morning, rushed to the grocery store and then home so that we could take Mya to the neighborhood Easter party.  Then we got home, I ate lunch faster than I’ve ever eaten, packed up the car with my newborn session gear and raced out the door.  I was going to Pflugerville and had my google maps directions, but wow, were they ever wrong.  I got sooo lost.  I don’t usually ever get lost going to a session but I got so lost that I almost started crying on the phone with Ryder who was trying to help me out.  Our GPS system was still packed with our stuff from our Miami trip.  My phone was beeping at me that it was about to die and I had no way of getting a hold of the mom from my session.  I was in the middle of NOWHERE land!  What a nightmare!!  I finally found my way there and things worked out great.  Thank goodness.  What a day!

So here are a couple of pictures from my morning session.  This was a morning of firsts.  We went to some property that  a friend of mine owns. (Thank you, Amanda, so much!)  They have some animals there on their property:  goats, donkeys,…and there was a horse on the lot next to theirs.  So in the middle of taking pictures, a horse came up and stuck his head right in the picture.  LOL  Weird, but cool.  Later the dad had to herd a few donkeys away from us so that we could take pictures without them being in them.  I was laughing so hard.  Thanks for your hard work, dad!  So this little boy was the happiest little thing.  I fell in love with him!  Thank you guys for a fun morning!

I love the way he just stopped and stared at this horse.  It cracks me up!  😉

I love you, bluebonnets!

Here are some pictures from my newborn session.  I loved hanging out with this family.  I met the mom through some old teacher friends that I used to work with.  I loved talking to her today.  I have a feeling that if we weren’t moving, she and I would become good friends.  She’s just so cool and easy to talk to.  And she had lots of great ideas for different pictures.  I love that!  Big brother was there too.  (Pictures of him coming soon.)  He was so sweet and apparently is the future version of Mya.  They were very similar babies and have personalities that are a lot alike.  It’s good to see that she will probably mellow out someday.  But this baby!  He was a dream child!!!  He slept the entire time that I was there, until the end.  If he woke up, he would stretch and instantly fall back asleep.  He was so adorable.  Congratulations on another perfect child you two!

More later, but now it’s bedtime.  The Easter bunny will be here bright and early in the morning!
