6 Months of Chub!/Asheville Baby Photographer

This morning I got to meet this little Irish cutie pie!  I LOVE babies around 6 months.  They are the happiest things and will just sit so perfectly still, the perfect little client.  😉  And his momma was pretty cool.  Imagine my delight when she pulled up and had a Seminoles tag on the front of her car.  Yes!  So we had to get a shot of him in a Seminoles jersey.  See if you can tell that this little man was teething.  😉  Either that or he had some really tasty hands.  hehe  I had fun hanging out with you guys!

The Perfect Day/Asheville Child Photographer

This past weekend I turned another year older.  Sigh.  This is the first year that I’ve actually felt kinda old.  Being this close to 40 scares me!  😉  But it was the most perfect day.  It was sunny for once and nearly 60 degrees out.  I wanted to spend the whole day outside.  We ended up getting annual passes to the Biltmore House and going and spending the day in their gardens.  Wow!  What a place.  I hadn’t been there in a really long time so I forgot how beautiful it is.  I just kept thinking to myself, “Oh my gosh, I HAVE to do a session here!”  It’s the perfect place for photos.  So I’ve decided that I will be back there to do Mya’s 5 year pictures, no doubt about it!  The kids got these lollipops at the candy shop there and they looked so cute that I had to get a picture.  So cheers to what will hopefully be a really great year!

Valentines Babies/Asheville Baby and Child Photographer

I did Valentines photos for some of the girls in my playgroup, http://www.meetup.com/Asheville-Stay-At-Home-Moms-Playgroup/.  I love these moms.  Not sure what I would do without them!  I still don’t know how stay at home moms did it back in the day before the internet.  Talk about some lonely ladies, I’m sure!  But the moms in my group have the cutest children and I love doing mini-sessions for them.  I was very excited to do Valentines pictures too because I’m kind of a girly girl and love all things pink, especially on little girls.  🙂  I had a different set-up in mind and it didn’t work out like I was hoping.  Hate when that happens, but this set-up was cute too.  We had a great time yesterday.  Thank you ladies for coming over and playing dress up!  😉 Thank you also to my amazingly talented and creative friend, Charity, for making the kissing booth.  She made it for her daughter but was kind enough to let me use it with Mya and River too.

So Pure/Asheville Baby and Baptism Photographer

This mom contacted me recently wanting pictures of her baby boy done in his baptism gown.  I have never done baptism photos but was excited about doing something new. I love how these came out, so white and pure.  🙂  We also did a few other fun photos.   This baby was a dream to work with!  He was so happy and content and we finished the session in less than an hour!  He was worn out at the end as you can see in the last picture….such a sweetheart!  He made me very excited about our own baby!

Slow Season

Ahhh, that lull after the holidays are over….gets me every year.  It’s that time of year when everyone has already taken their family photos in order to get their holiday cards out on time and the weather is cold.  Nobody is thinking about doing a photo session, unless of course it’s a baby session in the studio.  🙂  This time of year I start going stir crazy, ready to do some sessions again.  And that’s where my kids come in the picture.  I haven’t taken my camera out much lately at home, ever since I discovered Instagram.  So this morning, I got it out and said, “Who wants their picture taken?”  Both kids started jumping up and down saying, “Me, me, me!!”  Wow.  What did I ever do to deserve kids that love to have their picture taken?  😉  By the way, I am booking sessions for 2013, up until mid April and spots are starting to really fill in because spring is when the lull is over and everyone is ready to get outside and have family photos done again.  I look forward to those days!  🙂

This picture reminds me so much of thiswhen my girl was so tiny!
