New Path/Asheville Newborn Photographer

So as time has gone on, I have discovered how much I truly love newborn photography.  I love working with families and children too but after lots of thinking and ho and humming, I have decided that my focus is now going to be on newborns and babies up to one year.  I will still be doing family sessions for families that have done  sessions with me in the past or families that do newborn/baby sessions with me but I will no longer be taking new families for family sessions.  I may eventually only be doing family sessions as mini-sessions in the spring and fall, but for now I will book them anytime of year.  This is a huge step, leading in the direction that I want to take.  I’m excited and nervous about it.  Will I be able to get enough business?  Will I miss doing so many family sessions?  Only time will tell and I can always go back!  So yay to change and to doing what you love.  This is hardly considered a job because I adore it so much!

To totally change the subject, here are some more photos from last weekend’s session.  This little man is just precious!

Practice, Practice/Asheville Newborn Photographer

Today I had some time to practice some new Photoshop techniques.  It’s kind of my obsession right now, making the perfect newborn photos!  That’s good news for my clients, right?!  I met a mom today that had emailed me a year ago wanting to do newborn photos but I was already booked solid.  I told her that I’ve improved so much since last year so now she’s just going to have to have another baby!  hehe  I hope to always continue to grow and learn!  This is the photo that I worked on today of this new baby boy from a recent session!

18 Months!/Asheville Baby Photographer

I can’t believe Piper is 18 months old!  I would normally be sad about her growing up but for some reason, I’m not anymore.  I love seeing her personality develop because it’s really coming out, the feistiness and all.  hehe  I love that life is getting easier as she gets older.  I want her to be able to do what the “big kids” are doing!  This little girl has been poked and prodded and seen by so many specialists and it makes me so sad everything that she has to go through.  But she is still so happy and I know it’s going to make her one very strong lady someday.  She definitely won’t be afraid of pain like her momma!  So these pictures were very simple.  I didn’t buy her any new clothes or really put a whole lot of thought into it.  I think it’s because our walls are overflowing with photos right now, but she deserves great 18 month pictures just like Mya and River and I think these are so beautiful, like she is!  Happy 18 months to one amazing little girl!!

She kept coming up and hugging me so I asked Ryder to please get a picture!  I just don’t have many pictures with me in them with the kids!

Precious Girl!/Asheville Child Photographer, Asheville Family Photographer

Last weekend I did a session with a family that I’ve done a couple of sessions for before:  maternity when they were about to have their little girl and then again when she was around 1 year old.  Now she’s 2 and I can’t even believe what a difference a year makes!  She was a photographer’s dream!  She would stand and pose and give me the best smiles!  I loved hanging out with them and her!  I can’t wait to see their sweet baby boy coming up next month!  So here are a few of my favorites!
