Urban Asheville/Asheville Family Photographer

Today I did my final outdoor session for the year.  When we planned this session, we thought it was going to be freezing outside, but today ended up feeling like a beautiful spring day!  I thought I was ready for winter, but after today, I’m not so sure!  It was so great!  I did pictures for a family and the cousin and her parents too.  The older two I hadn’t seen in a while and good grief, the son has grown like 2′ it seems like!  Where did the time go?!  This session was so much fun!  I haven’t had the chance to do photos downtown yet since we’ve lived here, so I was very excited to find some new fun spots that were a little more urban and colorful and we found just that!  Can’t wait to go back to these spots.  This might be my favorite location so far!  It was so perfect spending the afternoon with you guys!  Thanks for being open to all of these great spots!

Holiday Mini-Session/Asheville Family Photographer

Yesterday I did a holiday mini-session with this gorgeous family.  I love mini-sessions because usually by the time you’re done, the little ones are also done.   This little man was so cute!  But he didn’t want to be held in front of a camera.  He wanted to be free to run.  😉  So happy to have met this new-to-Asheville family!  Looking forward to seeing you guys again soon!

3 Months/Asheville Baby Photographer

We were in Austin this past week for Thanksgiving and I got to meet this sweet little man who just turned 3 months old.  He is our cousin’s new baby.  His momma had a lot of ideas for things that she wanted but I was worried that we wouldn’t be able to get those newborn-ish shots that she really wanted.  But we did!  I loved doing pictures in their home since that’s not something I get to do very often.  It was fun going through their things and picking out what things we wanted to use and I love how they turned out!  By the way, this momma and her family members sure are talented.  They made most of the things that we used:  the Beatles quilt, the little knitted shorts, the Santa hat and shorts,…I may need to take some lessons so I can start making my own props!   I miss you guys already and can’t wait to see you again!

His daddy painted this yellow submarine!  I loved it!!

And we couldn’t leave out their first baby!

I haven’t done a cake smash in a while and was really excited about this one.  I’ve known this baby girl since she was in her momma’s tummy!  And now here she is one year old.  I loved doing this session because I love this age and think that cake smashes are so much fun!  This little girl was a huge fan of the cake and kept saying, “Mmmmmm.”  😉 But when she was done, she was DONE!  She wanted that icing off of her right then.  lol  Thank you guys for letting me do pictures for you again.  By the way, this momma is a cast member of many of the shows at the Flat Rock Playhouse and I hear she’s pretty darn talented.  If you’re feeling rather generous this holiday season, they are trying to raise money to keep the theater around.  Check out their link where you can donate: http://www.flatrockplayhouse.org/supportfrp/

This was after her much needed bath.  😉  I felt like a fool after I took this picture because her mom was singing to her and swaying with her and I just started crying!  Such a really precious moment and it tugged at my heart strings.  I blame all things on hormones right now, not the fact that I’m a sensitive Pisces.  😉

Yesterday I did Halloween pictures for my Meetup group.  Yeah, I know, I normally post about my sessions the night of, but this “morning sickness”, as they call it, is really kicking my booty at night!  And my muscles are so sore, especially my abs, from laying on the ground, trying to get those perfect shots.  Man, sessions are going to get tough the further along I get with this pregnancy.  Or maybe I’m just getting old and out of shape.  lol  But I had the best time with these kids.  I love kids so very much and love that I get to still work with them, even though I’m not teaching anymore.  What a perfect evening spent with some very cool parents and some super cute kids!  Thank you guys!  Hope you all have a fun Halloween and hopefully it warms up because right now it is fr-fr-fr-freeeeeezing out!!  😉

This might be my favorite picture of all time that I’ve taken. I love everything about it.  Her momma is the most creative lady ever and Ava is the sweetest little girl who is the perfect model!

This is River’s little buddy.  I just love her!!  Her personality is like a huge ray of sunshine.  I had so much fun with her, playing in the leaves and carrying the pumpkins around.  She had a blast and so did I!  Isn’t her costume so cute?  Her momma made it.  These mommas are starting to make me look bad with my store bought costumes!  😉

These three are so cute!  And it’s so easy to get them to smile!  It just amazes me how easy it is to get them all to look and smile at the same time, a photographer’s dream!

The cutest baby costume ever!!

Remember this cutie from a recent session?  We got her to smile!  Yeah!  But she still made us work for it.  😉

I haven’t seen this little man in so long!  He’s still the happiest thing but I was expecting him to still be this immobile little baby.  Well, duh, of course he isn’t that little baby anymore.  He’s a very active little boy who wants to walk!  Everywhere!  😉  It was so great seeing you guys again!

Happy Halloween everyone!  Hope you get lots of treats!
