God Heard Some Prayers

A friend of mine that I used to work with just recently had this adorable little baby girl.  Shortly after, she was put into the hospital and was diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.  After being sedated she was put on a respirator.  I was very worried about her as were many, many of her friends and family.  Not only did she just have this baby girl, but she also has a 2 year old at home.  A friend of hers emailed me and asked if I would be able to photograph the children as a gift because their mom was missing this part of their lives.  My reply?  YES, YES, absolutely!!!  I am so grateful that she emailed me.  I have been wondering what I could do for them and this was perfect.  Their mom is doing so much better and is off the respirator and feeding tube and was even able to get up and walk with a walker.  WOW!  Prayers do get answered.  God DOES heal.  And FYI, I was not able to type this without crying.  😉

It was so breezy this morning so we made a little Eskimo.  😉

The absolutely, CUTEST little boy I’ve ever seen!!!

I Needed That Laugh!

This afternoon I took pictures for this AWESOME family!!  I was very excited to meet them.  The mom had emailed me a long time back.  The dad was one of the funniest people I think I’ve ever met.  We kept blaming it on lack of sleep, but really, I think he’s just that funny!  They were a blast to hang out with and were soooo layed back!  I almost didn’t want to leave because they were so much fun.  They are going to be some amazing parents.  Thank you, guys, for letting me into your home!  You’re going to have such a wonderful life with that precious little girl!

I was so glad to see that they had their tree still up and since the baby was born right before Christmas, we had to get a shot of her in front of it!

I didn’t realize how small her feet were until we put them next to her mom’s!  Look at how precious they are!

Photo of the Year Contest

So I am done with sessions for the year so I thought it would be fun to have a photo contest.  I’m going to put up some of my favorite photos from the year and let you readers vote for which one is your favorite.  The owner of the winning picture will get a free 8×10 canvas of that photo.  To vote you must leave a comment and in the comment leave the title of the photo that is your favorite.  You can get friends and family to help you vote.  I will close the voting on Friday night at midnight so get started!  (One vote per person, please.)  🙂

Sweet Girl

This morning, I took pictures of this sweet girl.  I’m on my way out the door for another session, but I just had to share at least one picture!  Makes me wish that I had pictures of Mya like this!  Thanks to the super cool mom and dad for letting me come into their home and hang out for the morning.  More to come later today!  (Okay, added some more!)  And some more, and some more!  She’s just so adorable.

The cutest baby room I’ve ever seen!

The proud, big brother:

Gotta include some vintage.  🙂

Heavenly

I finally got to do some newborn pictures this morning with my new props and  camera.  I was so excited!  I drove to Elgin to take pictures of my friend’s sweet baby boy, Hamilton.  Isn’t that the coolest name?!  I told them that if we ever have a boy, I might have to steal that name.  😉  He was a total sweet heart and was pretty cooperative.  Once we got him to sleep, he was pretty good about letting us move him all around and change his hats and locations.  And his parents were so open to any idea that I had, moving furniture around, taking him outside.  Those types of parents rock!  Thank you guys for being so flexible and for trusting me.  Thank you also for letting me take his first real photos and for letting me come to your home.  I loved every second of it and it made me realize that I think I might want another little one, …someday soon.  🙂  Congratulations to you and your beautiful family!

Love this one in black and white too, couldn’t decide which one to share:

Just realized that he is facing the same way in every picture.  Hmmm….that must be his best side!
