This past weekend I got to meet up with this family that I adore! I’ve done a few sessions for them now, since their baby girl was born. I love their sessions because we always do them at their house. It’s fun watching the kids grow. I couldn’t believe how big their little girl was! And she was so affectionate, giving me hug after hug. I loved it! What a sweet family! I’ll be posting more later, but here are a couple of the two cutest kids on the planet!
This month is all about the family sessions. So many families booked their sessions a long time back since this is the perfect time of year with the fall leaves. I even booked one for our own family! GASP! lol I hadn’t done a family session in quite some time. It’s a nice change of pace from the newborns for now. This family was scheduled for yesterday but it rained all day long. We were having a hard time coming up with a new plan since dad works out of town, so I suggested an in-home session in the morning. It would be so stress-free. They wouldn’t even have to leave their house or worry about being back home for nap time. Sunrise is at 7:30. After I sent that I started to wonder what the heck I was thinking!! Sunday is my only day to sleep in and by sleep in, I mean sleep until 7:00. lol I hadn’t done a morning session in about 6 years! But once I got on the road and started driving, it was actually really peaceful. I had the car and radio all to myself! Nobody was on the road. The sun was starting to come up and the sky was turning pink. And then the family was perfect! I’ve done 5 sessions for them now so I feel like I know them and I love getting to see them, especially spunky little Ava. She is SO cute! And she’s such a great big sister to her little brother who is about to turn one, which blows my mind. I feel like he was just at my studio for his newborn session! I absolutely adored everything about this session. I love family sessions at home. They are just so real and how cool will it be for the family to look back 10 or 20 years from now and say, “Wow, look at how small the kids were, right there on our front steps.” Thank you guys again for allowing me to come into your home and capture the real moments!!
Ava insisted on holding her Minnie Mouse and her Minnie blanket. She was so excited to take pictures in her room and wanted her things right there with her. It was precious. I love her smile so much. She lights up the entire room!
This week at the beach with my family has been wonderful! It was supposed to rain all week and we had tons of plans for indoor activities but it has been beautiful most of the time! One evening we got the kids all bathed and dressed and in the car to go take their pictures and it started raining! Getting them all ready like that is not easy and I knew I didn’t want to have to do it again! So we waited for it to slow down and pulled over. When we went to get out, we looked back and Piper was sound asleep! Nothing was working in our favor. So we got out on the beach, bribed the kids with ice cream, and asked them to please, please just do a good job so that we could get back in the car since it was sprinkling. They did awesome! Piper is terrified of the ocean so getting her to just stand in the sand was quite a job! I love how these turned out and will be printing one super big for our walls at home!
This weekend I got to meet this really beautiful family. They were all so in love with this sweet baby boy. I loved watching big brother and big sister hold him and snuggle his little head! It’s not very often that I get siblings that are old enough to really hold the baby. I was very excited about that. This baby was a tad bit older than most newborns that I photograph so it was a bit of a challenge but mom was right there with me so much of the session helping me and we got some amazing pictures that I can’t wait for them to see! For now here are a few that I’ve finished editing. It was such a pleasure meeting you guys and I’m so glad I got to do a session for you!
A couple of nights ago I did a session for this sweet family. I know this mom from a Meetup group that we’re both in. She’s one of those people that you meet and you instantly connect and feel like you’ve known them forever! Her son and my Mya are clones of each other so it’s always fun hanging out with him! He and his little brother weren’t much into having their pictures taken and just wanted to run! So what did we do? We ran! And ran, and ran and ran some more. lol I got my exercise for the day! I had a lot of fun with you guys! See you again soon!
