It’s Not You, It’s Me!

My friend, Brandy and I have been talking about trading a session for a while.  Well, tonight was the last possible night.  Tomorrow she leaves for California and on Saturday, we’re off to N.Y.  I wanted some pictures showing a little bit of N.Y., hence the apple.  😉  I’ve got some cute pictures for her!  Can’t wait to share those, hopefully tomorrow.  (We traded RAW files so that we could do with them what we wanted.  So of course I had to add a vintage touch to mine.)  This move is in high gear.  We are down to the wire!  We are selling my car tomorrow.  And yes, I have cried over it.  I love my car!!  It’s the only car that I’ve ever owned that I really just loved.  It makes me a little sad to see it go.  But I won’t need it when we move. I know that!  We have one thing left to sell, our TV!  And now we have to figure out how to fit everything else that is left in our house into 3 suitcases.  Just a tad bit stressful.  In most moves you can move your things out and then go back and make sure you got it all.  Not this time.  We had the movers come last week, and now we pack our suitcases and hop on a plane.  Whewee!  So why has my stomach been hurting so much?  lol  Thank you so much, Brandy, for doing pictures for me.  I can’t wait to post yours!  So check back tomorrow.  For now, it’s bedtime!

Wildflowers

This year, the wildflowers have just been so beautiful and are everywhere!!  There is this field in my neighborhood that was full of bluebonnets and now it’s full of yellow flowers.  I’ve driven by it over and and over and finally one day I decided that it was time to get Mya out there.  So beautiful!

Happy Momma’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you great mommas out there!  If your children are as challenging as my child, you deserve the most relaxing day possible!  😉  Here’s to sleeping in, breakfast in bed (or on your air mattress if you are in the middle of moving like us LOL), and bubble baths!  Here are some more pictures from yesterday because editing pictures is how I relax!

I think this momma just looks stunning in this picture.  When I took it, I knew it was going to be one of my favorites!  Her eyes are just so beautiful!  I love the shape of them.

I loved this little boy!!  He was so cute and so sweet and I loved playing with him.  Can’t wait to see Mya at this age.

Trying to get this shot was so hard!  LOL I told the mom and dad to just make out and I would watch the kids.  Well, I forgot what happens when you let a toddler loose that just learned how to walk.  They want to just GO!  I was wrangling her and her brother and taking them back to the spot that I wanted them in over and over.  At one point the mom said, “Should we keep making out?  This is like having a free baby sitter!”  Ahh haaa!  So this was the best I got.  Meanwhile, sister was taking off for the hills behind me!

Sweet and Perfect

This morning I did my last Austin session and wow, it was just perfect!  The mom is a teacher that I used to work with.  I had never met her children.  In fact, one of the last things I remember about her is her being pregnant with her son who is now going on 3 and she has this beautiful little girl now too!  I know I always say it, but time flies!  I had SO much fun with them!!  I’ve always thought the mom had the best personality.  She is so easy going and SO funny!  I don’t think she even knows it.  I’m glad I got to end my sessions in Austin with this one.  What a great way to start the day!  More to come later.  On our way to a neighbor’s birthday party for their jack russell who just turned 10. Yes, I said their dog!  Don’t judge.  😉  LOL

1 Week and 2 Days

In one week and 2 days, we will be flying out to our new home in N.Y.!  We are so ready and excited.  We found an apartment in the Upper West Side which was much harder and stressful than we thought it would be.  It was so stressful in fact that my stomach has been in knots since last Saturday.  Ryder even has  a zit!  He never gets those.  (He’s going to be so mad at me for talking about that.)  We finally got news that we were approved for our second choice apartment.  Whew!  Finally!  I was starting to wonder if we were really going to be homeless because we HAVE to be out of our house on the 15th, no ifs, ands or buts!  The apartment is not at all what we were hoping to find, but hey, at this point, I will live in a box on Broadway if I have to just to be in the city that I love!  We can’t wait to take Mya!!  She is going to love it just as much as we do.  We got her a new stroller this week.  It’s so cool and weird at the same time.  We saw tons of them while in N.Y.  It converts into a double stroller which we hope to be using about this time next year!  I love the color of it and it’s supposedly light-weight and easy to fold up.  We’ll see about that.  I may need to start lifting some weights to be able to get down all of the stairs for the subway while holding a 2 year old and this stroller!  Did I mention that that is my biggest worry about living there?  lol  While there we walked all over Central Park since we had only seen about 20 seconds of it before, back in February.  It was so beautiful.  I love it and am so beyond excited to do photo sessions there.  New Yorkers, book me!  I need to be in that park with my camera!  😉  I saw a photographer there doing a session with a family and I was so jealous.  I know that business will start up soon, but it’s hard when things have been so great and easy here.  I’ve never had to advertise.  I have business cards, but I’ve hardly given them to anyone.  I guess now would be the time!  We are so excited to be out of the suburbs.  Not sure why we thought that this was the life that we wanted:  big, new house, SUV, 2 children, quiet, cookie cutter neighborhood….not for us.  I want to be able to walk out our front door and be in the middle of it all!  This quiet, peaceful place is killing me!  I can’t stand it.  I don’t like going in our back yard because it’s just too quiet.  I miss the neighbors from next door who had 6 kids!  At least then there was some sort of noise.  Every time I hear a siren now I get so excited!  😉  Silly, I know, but I’m just ready to be in the big city.  I don’t think we’ll ever leave once we get there and figure it all out.

This weekend is my last and final Austin photo session and I can’t wait!!!  So look out for them.  I know it’s going to be great!  Here’s a picture of Central Park that I took while we were there.  Isn’t is amazing?  So green and dare I say, peaceful.  LOL
