I knew this morning when I got up that my session with this family was going to be great! I looked outside and it was overcast, much better than super bright sun, which is what I’ve been having to deal with a lot lately. I knew that it was going to be even better when this family got out of their car and unloaded a wagon, a little chair and lots of changes of clothes along with snacks, drinks,…. They were really prepared and that made me happy! And I knew it was really going to be great when as soon as I got the camera out, this little guy started flashing smiles left and right, making my job sooo incredibly easy and fun!! It only took us a little over an hour! Thank you little fellow! You rock! 😉
So adorable. And yeah, I see the drool, but it’s cute!
A little bit of vintage. 🙂
I love this one: such a happy, loving family!
Today my baby girl turned 18 months. I’ve been so excited about doing her 18 month pictures. I always get excited about doing her pictures, even though she hates it so much! Today wasn’t so bad, mainly because she has a cast on her leg and can’t walk. Now I remember what it was like taking her pictures before she could walk! The thing that was bad were the mosquitoes! Every time I put the camera up to my eye, I could just see them swarming all around her. Thank goodness she had bug spray on! (One thing to never, ever forget for a photo session!) I put her in the car to drive to a second location just down the road and my car was full of mosquitoes and 3 bees! Nature, always getting in the way of my job. 😉 Man, this time change is crazy! I took Mya out at 4:00 and the sun was still just a tad too bright and by 5:15, it was getting dark. I guess mornings are going to be my best time for sessions so that there is enough time! I love you, sweet Mya!! Happy 1/2 birthday!
I’m going to post some vintage style pictues as well as the regular colored ones. I love them both. FYI: If you book a session with me, you get both! 🙂
How did I get her to smile? I started saying numbers. That’s it. All out of order and she thought it was hilarious!!
Lately I have been on the look out for some really cute newborn photo props and boy have I found them!!! I have gotten a ton of adorable little hats, diaper covers, swaddlers, baskets, antique benches, wheel barrows, flower pots. You name it! I am so beyond excited to use them. I have a few newborn sessions set up already and I’m so excited. I did a newborn session for my very first session ever for my friend Kelly. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. I was so nervous that I was sick. I did a couple more in the beginning but now I’m ready fo real! I’ve gotten a lot of practice since then and a much better camera so I’m armed and ready to go! So all of you babies out there all warm and snug in your mommy’s tummy, do a little kicking and tell your momma to contact me! 😉
…that having a broken leg is no fun?!
You get to:
become a backpack,
crawl into laundry baskets,
play with play dough,
and best of all, you get to…..
eat paint!!! Yum!
This weekend, I have 2 sessions that I’m very excited about, so I will stop torturing you readers with pictures of my girl! 😉
Since Mya broke her leg, we have gotten a lot of one-on-one time together. I’m not up cleaning the house and folding laundry while she plays anymore because I feel bad just leaving her sitting all by herself in the playroom. So she’s getting a lot of one-on-one time with my camera too. 😉 I think she might be getting used to it. I can hope anyways!
Talking to my mom. My mom has called us almost everyday ever since she found out I was pregnant with Mya. Because she lives so far away, it’s her way of making sure that Mya really knows her and knows her voice. After Mya was born, she had heard my mom’s voice so much on the phone (when I held it up to my belly) that she instantly smiled and cooed at her when my mom held her. We can’t wait to see her when she comes for Thanksgiving!
