In-Home Newborn Sessions/East Bay Newborn Baby Photographer

The beauty of in-home lifestyle sessions is that they allow families to be themselves, without the stress or pressure of a studio setting. Parents are in their own space, surrounded by their belongings, and the baby is in a familiar environment. There’s no need for the fuss of packing up and traveling, which can sometimes add unnecessary stress, especially with a newborn. Everything is right where it needs to be, and that makes for a much more peaceful and natural experience.I love how these sessions capture the true essence of family life. Whether it’s a quiet moment with mom breastfeeding on the couch, dad gently swaddling the baby, or big brother or sister lovingly giving a kiss, these are the moments that matter. I can photograph a family’s story as it unfolds in real-time. It’s all about documenting authentic connections. The light, too, is often soft and beautiful in a home setting. Natural light streaming through windows creates a dreamy, warm glow, which is perfect for newborn photography. I can move around the space freely, capturing all kinds of sweet interactions in a more candid, organic way. It’s less about getting the “perfect” shot and more about freezing time in its most beautiful, unposed form. But what I love most is how relaxed the whole process feels. There’s no rush, no rigid timeframes, and no stress about getting everything just right. Parents can settle in, feed their baby, and just be together—allowing me to document those fleeting moments in a way that feels completely natural. It’s a peaceful experience for everyone involved, and it’s the kind of session that I know families will look back on with fond memories.In-home lifestyle newborn photography isn’t just about taking pictures; it’s about capturing the heart of family life at a beautiful, tender moment in time. It’s relaxed, it’s intimate, and it’s real!  ~Brandy Lewis (East Bay Newborn Baby Photographer)

Pets/East Bay Newborn Baby Photographer

One of my favorite things about in-home lifestyle sessions is that we get to include your pets.  I LOVE animals and think it’s so fun to get photos with them.  It can be a little more work but it’s always worth it!  Just have the treats ready!  lol  Cats are usually super curious and want to be looking on from afar but dogs are always right there with us most of the time!  I oftentimes have treats in my jacket or jeans pocket because I use them so much with our own dog so I’m a hit right as I walk in the door!  Right now I am offering a massive discount to my new families in CA!  Please message me if you are pregnant and want to schedule a session!  I am also now offering Fresh 48 hospital sessions which take place just after birth!  Contact me here to schedule:  brandynicole77@gmail.com   ~Brandy Lewis (East Bay Newborn Baby Photographer)

Sitter Sessions/East Bay Newborn Baby Photographer

I LOVE sitter sessions!  I know I say that all of the time but they really are my favorite types of sessions!

As a photographer, I have the privilege of capturing life’s most precious moments. While every stage of childhood is unique and magical, sitter sessions—typically done when a baby is around six months old—hold a special place in my heart. There’s something undeniably delightful about this age, and it’s a joy to freeze these fleeting moments in time for families to cherish forever.

At six months old, babies are hitting some incredible milestones. They’re usually sitting up on their own, full of curiosity, and beginning to reveal their personalities. Unlike the sleepy newborn stage or the toddler whirlwind years, the sitter stage is marked by a calm yet vibrant energy. Babies this age are wide-eyed explorers, enchanted by the simplest things, from a jingling toy to the sound of your voice.

Their expressions are unfiltered and full of wonder. Giggles, wide gummy smiles, and even the occasional pout—all of these emotions are what make sitter sessions so special.

What sets sitter sessions apart from other milestones is the sheer versatility they offer. Babies are still small enough to fit comfortably in props like baskets and crates, but they’re also active participants, sitting confidently and engaging with their surroundings. Their newfound strength and coordination allow for a variety of poses and setups, making these sessions fun!

Another reason I love these sessions is the simplicity. At this age, babies don’t need elaborate backdrops or fancy outfits to shine. A soft, neutral setting or a splash of pastel colors is often enough to create timeless images. The focus is always on the baby—on their sparkling eyes, chubby cheeks, and those tiny fingers and toes that parents wish they could hold onto forever.

Black Friday/East Bay Newborn Baby Photographer

This baby is one of the most beautiful babies!  Look at all of that hair!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  There is so much to be thankful for in this crazy world.  I am thankful that my kids are doing better than I ever would have thought after moving them across the country.  They are making friends and are doing okay in school.  I’m thankful that I am able to be there for them as much as they need me.  Sometimes change is good, even when you don’t want change!  You never know where life is going to lead you! ~Brandy Lewis (East Bay Newborn Baby Photographer)

Hey There/East Bay Newborn Baby Photographer

How’s everyone doing out there?  Ready for Thanksgiving?  We are taking a trip back to see our family and friends and it’s going to be emotional.  So much of Asheville is in disarray. It’s going to be sad to see.  But it’s also going to be really good to see our friends and family that have been living in this terrible reality and give them all a hug.  I hope you all have a wonderful day with those that you love.  ~Brandy Lewis (East Bay Newborn Baby Photographer)
