1 Week and 2 Days

In one week and 2 days, we will be flying out to our new home in N.Y.!  We are so ready and excited.  We found an apartment in the Upper West Side which was much harder and stressful than we thought it would be.  It was so stressful in fact that my stomach has been in knots since last Saturday.  Ryder even has  a zit!  He never gets those.  (He’s going to be so mad at me for talking about that.)  We finally got news that we were approved for our second choice apartment.  Whew!  Finally!  I was starting to wonder if we were really going to be homeless because we HAVE to be out of our house on the 15th, no ifs, ands or buts!  The apartment is not at all what we were hoping to find, but hey, at this point, I will live in a box on Broadway if I have to just to be in the city that I love!  We can’t wait to take Mya!!  She is going to love it just as much as we do.  We got her a new stroller this week.  It’s so cool and weird at the same time.  We saw tons of them while in N.Y.  It converts into a double stroller which we hope to be using about this time next year!  I love the color of it and it’s supposedly light-weight and easy to fold up.  We’ll see about that.  I may need to start lifting some weights to be able to get down all of the stairs for the subway while holding a 2 year old and this stroller!  Did I mention that that is my biggest worry about living there?  lol  While there we walked all over Central Park since we had only seen about 20 seconds of it before, back in February.  It was so beautiful.  I love it and am so beyond excited to do photo sessions there.  New Yorkers, book me!  I need to be in that park with my camera!  😉  I saw a photographer there doing a session with a family and I was so jealous.  I know that business will start up soon, but it’s hard when things have been so great and easy here.  I’ve never had to advertise.  I have business cards, but I’ve hardly given them to anyone.  I guess now would be the time!  We are so excited to be out of the suburbs.  Not sure why we thought that this was the life that we wanted:  big, new house, SUV, 2 children, quiet, cookie cutter neighborhood….not for us.  I want to be able to walk out our front door and be in the middle of it all!  This quiet, peaceful place is killing me!  I can’t stand it.  I don’t like going in our back yard because it’s just too quiet.  I miss the neighbors from next door who had 6 kids!  At least then there was some sort of noise.  Every time I hear a siren now I get so excited!  😉  Silly, I know, but I’m just ready to be in the big city.  I don’t think we’ll ever leave once we get there and figure it all out.

This weekend is my last and final Austin photo session and I can’t wait!!!  So look out for them.  I know it’s going to be great!  Here’s a picture of Central Park that I took while we were there.  Isn’t is amazing?  So green and dare I say, peaceful.  LOL

Happy 2nd Birthday, Mya!!

So my baby girl is turning 2 tomorrow.  I’m not upset like I was when she turned one.  When she turned one, I cried and cried.  I even cried at her party!  This year, I’m happy that she’s getting older.  I’m ready for the terrible 2’s to be over with.  She’s our little firecracker.  She knows what she wants, when she wants it and she will let you know!  But we love her more than you could ever imagine.  She is beautiful and perfect in every way.  I took these pictures when the bluebonnets were out and she was so happy!  She loves flowers so that made it easier.  If you keep up with my blog, you know that she normally screams bloody murder anytime I get the camera out.  But this time I told her that I was just taking pictures of the flowers.  Meanwhile, Ryder got behind me and acted really goofy to get her to laugh.  It worked!  Thank goodness!  Happy birthday to my cinco de mayo baby!

My favorite one:

Almost 2

Seen enough of Mya lately?  Yes, I know, I’ve been posting a lot of her lately.  Business is slow right now.  That’s all my doing so that we could really pack and get things ready for the move.  I don’t do so well with a million things on my plate.  I start to freak out and bite the inside of my cheek and become kind of grouchy.  Nobody needs to be subjected to that from me.  lol  So once we get moved and settled and business is back to normal, there will be lots of other beautiful faces to observe on my blog.  Promise!

Wow, before my very eyes, our baby girl is turning into a little girl.  🙁  Okay, not that sad.  Toddlerhood is um, well, let’s just say, challenging!!!  I posted a video of her on our family blog the other day of one of her tantrums.  I will spare you, but believe me, it’s pretty bad these days.  But then there are great days too.  Like yesterday.  We got the water table out and Mya had such a great time.  She played with it for over an hour.  She was so happy and therefore, so was I!  So I am ready for the terrible 2’s to be over with already.  Oh yeah, she’s not even two yet!  Not for 2 more weeks!  Oh man.

She’s getting so thin 🙁  Look at that tummy.  It’s almost gone!

And her thighs?  What thighs?  No more rolls.

Baby, difficult toddler, no matter what she is, she’s my sweet girl.  Love you “Boo Boos”.  😉

Thank you Weather

This morning, I met up with a family that booked me forever ago!  I thought for sure it was going to rain too, but nope, it held off for us!  I hadn’t seen this little guy since October.  It’s amazing how much children can change in such a short amount of time!  We found this amazing hill full of wild flowers!!  Gorgeous.  Oh the things I will miss about Texas!

Impromptu

Today after Mya’s nap, I was playing around with her hair while she ate her snack.  I’ve been wondering if her hair was long enough for little pigtails, so today I tried it out and it was so cute.  Next thing you know, I have her in a pink tutu, pearls, and we are in the back yard taking pictures.  Not taking pictures of her, no the grass!  If she thinks I’m taking pictures of her, the tears will start.  😉  Just taking a break from all the packing!
