Happy 8 Months!/Asheville Baby Photographer

River turned 8 months this past week.  How can it be?  How can it be that in 4 months he will be one year old?  I just don’t want to think about it. I don’t want to think about him growing up, going to school,…I hope that he turns into a terrible toddler so that I won’t be a wreck when he does go to kindergarten.  When I was a teacher, moms like me that used to cry and stand outside the door peeking in used to make me cry too!  How will I ever handle it when it’s my own child?!  I love you, love you, love you little man.  You are the most amazingly perfect baby boy!

Haven’t Disappeared!

Sorry for the lack in posts!  I haven’t disappeared.  We are moving!  Yes, moving, AGAIN!  But this time, it’s not across the country, it’s just in town.  😉  We finally found a house that we love in an area that we love and man, it was hard!  Houses in this town are rather expensive and don’t have yards.  So not what we were expecting.  But we finally found one with a yard and a room perfect for a studio for me and everything else that we could ever need.  Wahoo!  So excited to get my studio together.  I won’t be using an empty dining room any longer.  lol  We hope to actually have dining room furniture.  No more NYC furniture, or midget furniture as I’ve called it in the past.  So I do have a session coming up soon, but until then, cheers to new beginnings, again.  😉

Baby Girl/Asheville Newborn Photographer

Today I got to do newborn pictures for this precious baby girl.  Her parents kept the gender a surprise and what a great surprise it was!  She arrived a couple of weeks early which was another surprise to me!  But I couldn’t wait to meet her.  Poor girl was not very happy with us today, but she was a trooper and I bet she’ll be getting lots of zzzz’s tonight!  Thank you guys for letting me do photos for you again!

LOVED this pod that mom made!

I’m So Lucky!/Asheville Family Photographer

This afternoon I did pictures for this incredibly sweet family!  The mom works at my doctor’s office, from when I was pregnant with River.  She had told me a while back about her kids and that she wanted to do a session at some point so I was very excited to get her email recently and to get to meet her family.  And oh my gosh, their kids were the SWEETEST kids!  If it wouldn’t have seemed weird, I could have totally picked up their little boy and just hugged him.  He was so happy and smiley.  I will admit, when she told me that she had a 2 year old boy, I got a little nervous.  I know how 2 year old boys, and girls too, for that matter, can be.  I usually find myself running after them all over the place, but not this little man.  He was great!   And his sister!  She was so polite and such a wonderful big sister.  I loved this location that they picked out.  I will be going back there for sure.  I know I always say it, but I really had so much fun with you guys!  I could share many, many more pictures but my eyes just won’t stay open any longer and I know my little ones will be up bright and early!  (I may have to upload more tomorrow!  Update:  just added some more!)  Thank you guys for a fun afternoon!

This picture blows me away.  It looks like a painting.  As we were heading to the car, we passed this lake and the fall leaves were reflecting off of the water.  I felt so bad because everyone was so cold and tired but I just could NOT pass up this spot.  I think it was worth taking coats off for once more.  🙂

This dad is going to hate me for posting this.  I just couldn’t resist.  Like most men, he was  a little camera shy.  I’m used to it.  I don’t let anyone get away with it though because nobody hates being in front of the camera more than me.  😉  I love this shot.  And I noticed while I was editing these tonight how he has his hands in his pockets.  He’s a natural!  And he didn’t even know it.  🙂

Oh Light!/Asheville Child Photographer

The light here lately at sunset is just so amazing!  I want to take my camera outside every afternoon and capture it before the dreary days of winter are here.

We went to Cataloochie Valley this past weekend and wow! For those of you who have never been and you are in/around Asheville, go!  There is nothing like it in the world!
