Laid Back/Asheville Baby Photographer

This morning I did a session for the most laid back family.  Those are the best kinds of clients.  They were open to any and all suggestions/ideas/outfits.  They were even okay with going outside in the freezing cold snow to do a few pictures.  Loved, loved, loved this session!  Thank you guys for being so easy-going and fun!  Happy 6 months, little man!

Today I did Valentines pictures for my playgroup.  I started the Asheville Stay at Home Moms’ Playgroup on Meetup.com right before we moved to Asheville.  I LOVE all of the amazing and fun friends that we have made.  And I love doing pictures for them.  We sure do have some cute baby girls in our group!  Happy Valentines to all of you love birds out there!  Hope you get lots of chocolates and lots of lovin’.  😉  (I have more to upload tomorrow but tonight the Super Bowl has stolen my time.  GO GIANTS!  Woot woot!)

This little girl’s mom brought this stuff for her session.  Absolutely adorable!  She said, “I don’t know if you want to use any of this.”  I’m pretty sure I interrupted her with my, “YES!!!”  Love when parents have cute ideas like these!

The happiest baby I’ve EVER seen in my life!

I did it!  Woohoo!  I got Mya’s pictures taken and it was rather easy, if I do say so myself.  If you follow my blog, you know that Mya has never liked having her picture taken.  Need some examples?  See here, and here, and here.  I could add more, but you get the idea.  So I’ve had my studio all set up and have showed it to her many times to get her used to the idea.  I showed her her shirt that I made for her.  I showed her her pictures from last year.  She even watched me paint this chair.  She wanted to be the first to try it out!  (This chair was something I found at Goodwill thinking it would be an easy, cheap new prop.  Ha!  It ended up costing me nearly $80 after all of the paint!  Good grief!  The silver bucket, on the other hand, was only $5!  Makes up for it.  A little.)  So this morning, we went and got the chair to see how it looked after its final coat of paint and I asked her what she thought about taking her pictures with the chair.  Her response:  “Do I have to take my pajamas off?”  😉  So she got changed and was very excited.  All we had to do was let Papa Bear go first and then she was great!  Yay!  Mission accomplished, again!  So why am I dreading her 4 year pictures when they are still 4 months away?!

And Papa Bear!  He was a natural!  😉

I’ve got my studio all set up, ready for some Valentines pictures coming up with some baby girls, but I couldn’t leave out my baby boy!  So I decided to set something up for him on the side that’s not all pink and frilly!  I’m going to take Mya’s pictures too, but with her, she is a little more difficult.  I have to show her the setup, get it into her mind that I might be taking her pictures coming up soon and then just wait for her to tell me that she wants her picture taken.  That’s why I’m starting in January!  😉  I usually buy her a shirt but this year I decided to be a little crafty and make hers and River’s shirts.  I think I’m now hooked.  First it was the flower headbands and now shirts.  Next thing you know, I’m going to have an Etsy shop.  😉
