Just a Few/Asheville Newborn Photographer

For some reason, April is kind of slow.  I’m okay with it since I’ve got Mya and Piper’s birthdays and I want time to focus on their parties and birthday pictures as well as change some things in my studio.  Well, I guess that will be a job for my husband.  hehe  I’m going to take some time to breathe because May and June are booked solid.  But since I didn’t have a session over Easter weekend, here are a few more of my favorites from last weekend’s baby girl.  You can never get enough cuteness!

Precious Babe/Asheville Newborn Photographer

I sent the gallery to this mom and dad so I wanted to share some more photos of this precious baby girl.  I really loved this session and feel so lucky that parents choose me to photograph these beautiful babies for their first ever professional photos.  It means a lot because there are only a brazillion photographers in this town.  hehe  I love my job and love what I do so much.  My mind never leaves my business.  I am never not looking for beautiful props, fabrics and outdoor locations.  I am always thinking about the new mommas that I’ve met and wondering how they are doing.  I love seeing them and their sweet babies on Facebook.  And I love seeing those newborn babies at 6 months or 1 year when I get to photograph them again.  It’s so cool to see their little personalities coming out!  My job rocks.  People often ask me if I’ll ever go back to teaching.  How could I give up this amazing opportunity?  I miss my babies (5 year olds) that I used to get to have so much fun with each day at school, but I love my clients and their families and the friendships that come out of meeting them!

Heavenly Girl/Asheville Newborn Photographer

Today I got to meet this heavenly baby girl.  She was unbelievably good during her session, only waking up once to eat for a few minutes and then she was back to sleep.  She definitely won the award for the best little model.  I loved meeting her momma who looked fabulous after just having a baby!  I can’t wait to finish editing all of the photos from this session.  I will share more later in the week!

Mom and I had decided ahead of time that we were going to do this setup.  I was excited to do something with flowers since spring is here but this morning when I woke up and looked outside, it had snowed!  Say what?!

Tiny Dancer

Mya decided that she wanted to do ballet back in the fall.  I thought for sure, she would give it a try and be ready to quit after a month.  She’s never been a girly girl.  She’s not the most graceful girl.  And she’d rather be spending her time outside exploring in the dirt and woods.  I was pleasantly surprised that she actually liked ballet and has stuck with it up until now.  Now her recital will be coming up and I am so proud of her!  She looks like she is having so much fun in class and she really gives it everything she’s got.  I took ballet one year as a child and dance classes in college.  I always dreamed of being a dancer, but our family couldn’t ever really afford dance classes.  I always hoped I would have a daughter that would want to take dance classes.  Mya has already said that she wants to do soccer in the fall, but I’m so glad that she gave it a really good shot!  I put makeup on her today since they were doing pictures at the dance studio.  I did her hair and after her makeup, told her to go look in the mirror.  I wished so much that I had had my camera then because the smile on her face was like nothing I have ever seen in her.  She just kept staring at herself and came back and told me she couldn’t believe how beautiful she looked.  She looked so grown up!  Did I cry watching her have her pictures taken at the studio?  Me?!  Noooo……okay, maybe a little.  hehe  Will I make it through the recital without making a fool out of myself?  Probably not!  I love this girl!
